Buhari joined the social media platform on Monday, December 22, with the handle @ThisIsBuhari.

Buhari’s first tweets are as follows:

“Good afternoon my friends! This will now be my official Twitter handle to communicate with you. GMB”

“I thank everyone who has helped amplify our message and campaign through various handles. – GMB”

Buhari’s Twitter account has now gathered over 23,000 followers despite only being in operation for 12 hours.
