State Government Cancels November Sanitation

The exercise, which involves a restriction of movement on every last Saturday of the month, has been suspended to enable residents collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVC) which are being distributed by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The government of Lagos State has cancelled the environmental sanitation exercise for November.
The exercise, which involves a restriction of movement on every last Saturday of the month, has been suspended to enable residents collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVC) which are being distributed by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The suspension was announced by the State Commissioner for the Environment, Tunji Bello on Thursday, November 27.
“The decision to cancel the exercise is to assist INEC officials in their logistics, as they will need to move men and materials to different parts of the state. This cancellation is also to allow residents who have not collected their Permanent Voter Cards to do so, as well as allow those who have not registered to do so,” Bello said.
“In view of this therefore, the statewide restriction of vehicular and human movement is hereby lifted for the November sanitation exercise to allow Lagosians participate actively in the INEC registration and collection of Permanent Voters Card in the State,” the commissioner added.
The PVC distribution exercise is expected to hold from Thursday, November 28 to Sunday, November 30.
